Free initial consultation

Because the person-to-person relationship is central to my approach, it's really important to me to meet with you and/or your student to see if we "click."  Our first meeting is always free of charge, and can be conducted in person or via phone or Skype/iChat.  This gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, talk about your and/or your student's goals, and discuss logistical details (see below) in detail.

Please contact me today to arrange your free consultation.  I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Length + Frequency

The length and frequency of our meetings will be determined by your individual needs.  Sessions can range from one to three hours, with 90 minutes being about average.  How often we'll meet depends on a variety of factors, including what your goals are and how quickly you want to see progress: we may elect to work together from as little as one hour per week to, in some cases, as often as every day.  We'll talk all of this over at our initial consultation.

Rates are determined based on the length and frequency of sessions, the length of the contract, and location.  We’ll discuss a schedule and go over rates in detail during your free initial consultation.

Location is flexible: I meet with students in my home office, in libraries, in coffee shops, in schools, and in their homes.   When we meet for our initial consultation, we'll work out a mutually agreeable location.

I also offer sessions by Skype/iChat.  These remote sessions can serve as the backbone of our work together or as a regular or occasional supplement to in-person meetings.

[Don't]  Panic sessions

What if you have a test coming up in a week or two, or a paper due in a few days, or some other pressing situation?  Maybe you need help right now .  Enter the [Don't] Panic session.

While most of my work with students is on a longer-term basis, I also offer crash sessions (on a time-available basis) for those moments when what you need is immediate relief.  Call or email right away if you find yourself between a rock and a hard place.  Even a little one-on one help can go a very long way.
